PROBLEM & SOLUTION

Travel has changed. Peer-to-peer (P2P) platforms such as Airbnb are disrupting the travel market with their more authentic and community-based approach.

But for the many outdoor sports enthusiasts who need to travelin order to experience diverse locations there is no platform that offers what they need: a variety of sports experiences, staying with and doing sports with local peers, information about local sports conditions and more.

Until now: bstoked is a specialized P2P marketplace that makes it easy to host and book actionsports experiences. bstoked minimizes planning, costs and risks, while optimizing the travel and sports experience. Furthermore, bstoked is not only one, but rather a family of sports-specific platforms. Each platform is tailored to the needs of the respective sports community and offers everything from complete trips, accommodations, and specialized services (courses, gear) to local spot information.

VISION

Our vision is to create a combination of Airbnb and Red Bull by making outdoor sports adventures more accessible, fun, and safe for everyone. We connect like-minded people who share a  passion for action sports.

MARKET & COMPETITION

The global adventure travel market is huge ($263 bn in 2012*), and growing fast (20% yty*). The bstoked core brand targets the action sports segment worth around $50 bn alone.

The market segment we focus on is currently only addressed by generic activity marketplaces (e.g. Adrenaline hunter, Tripaneer). These often mix different types of activities and lack the user-experience that action sports enthusiasts need. bstoked is the only sports-specific platform with a careful curation of quality experiences for each sport. This builds credibility and allows to integrate with the respective sports communities as a basis for:

  • Becoming a leading brand in the action sports market
  • Partnerships with key actors for outreach (sports media, equipment brands, influencers, ...)
